The dirt does get into the uneven surface and is difficult to get out - definitely needs a steam cleaner. The grout does get dirty too - make sure that gets sealed along with the floor tiles. There is a tip using ammonia that keeps them clean, but that is a bit of a nasty chemical. Good luck deciding! (And having said all that, I have had mine 10 years and don't regret having it installed!)Deb Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00019352825472206476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-396646580153271430.post-70779768836800521852015-10-29T22:30:52.610+00:002015-10-29T22:30:52.610+00:00Thanks for the advice. I don't really know but I was kind of hoping its a bit like a varnish so it's easier to keep them clean. I might have to source a tile or two and seal them and then chuck mud and stuff at them to see what happens :-)Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09242633962339344241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-396646580153271430.post-55635184755122399632015-10-29T20:54:41.637+00:002015-10-29T20:54:41.637+00:00Do think carefully about the floor tiles - I have ...Do think carefully about the floor tiles - I have slightly textured stone ones in the kitchen/diner but with the foot and paw traffic they're an absolute pain to try to keep clean. Dried mud gets stuck into every indentation and even my steam cleaner with brush struggles. Do have dark grouting as that will save worrying about pale colours getting stained. I told my friend to get smooth tiles for her kitchen and she says it's the best piece of advice I've ever given her - sometimes wonderful quality is outweighed by practicality. I do love those tiles though!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-396646580153271430.post-78323440804675134462015-10-29T09:49:36.731+00:002015-10-29T09:49:36.731+00:00Ooh the classic definitely! I thought wetting it would mimic the sealer but would need to check with some actual sealer before I decide.
